All Purpose Cleaner

The average expenditure on cleaning products and other housekeeping supplies in the United States is $647 per year, based on the Consumer Expenditure Survey from 2007 to 2008 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. So I thought that I could make my own cleaners for a fraction of that price. Plus homemade cleaners are less toxic. Something I care about when my 2 years old touches everything, then puts his fingers in his mouth. I found this recipe from another site. I used this all around the house. On my cabinets, on my smooth top stove, on my dinning table. It works great!

All Purpose Cleaner

For a 32 ounce spray bottle
4 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons borax
1/4 cup liquid dish soap
15 drops of essential oils, optional

  1. Mix vinegar with the borax. Put it in the spray bottle
  2. Fill the bottle up with hot water. Let the borax dissolve.
  3. Add the soap and the essential oils.
