Chili always seems to make it to our plate every month. It just never gets old. If you are like my husband then your chili requires a lot of cheese and crackers. My little boy even knew what I was cooking before I told him. I know chili is one of those meals that everyone can make, but I thought I would give you my version of it.
Chili
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cans pinto beans, kidney beans, or black beans (I mix and match)
- Cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat, until beef is done.
- Stir in remaining ingredients, except the beans. Heat to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 1 hour.
- Stir in beans, heat to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered 10 minutes.
